Reluctantly rounded up to 3 from 2.5 stars. From the hype about this book, I expected something more akin to Gillian Flynn than to John Grisham, but it was closer to the latter. Poor pacing, irritating main character. It held my attention enough that I wanted to get to the end and find out what happened, but I was never as engaged as I felt I should be given the material the author had to work with. Much of the suspense was created through tactics I found contrived at best, gimicky at worst.
