A Great and Terrible Beauty - Libba Bray Ignore the horrible cover. I picked this book up and put it right back on the shelves at the library a half dozen times. Then I read Beauty Queens by the same author and loved it so unbelievably much that I needed more Libba Bray no matter what. So I picked up this book again, and I loved it! YA publishers, when are you going to realize that no one likes this kind of cover? YA covers are horrid, in general, and now that so many excellent authors are writing for this category, older people are reading. If you make books with covers that will not embarrass us, we will buy more of them. Actually, I work with kids, and all the tween/teen girls I know feel the same way about it. Absolutely no one's needs are being served by publishing books with ridiculous covers. Keep it simple.
