Wow. I've never read anything quite lIke this, though it draws from many other things that many of us have read. Masterful. A great rhythm to the prose and a story that I refuse to spoil for you. Go in fresh, but do jump in. Every review I read of this book tries to describe it by comparing it to other books, saying it's a combination of x book plus y book, or it's a grown up version of z book, and I see the temptation to do that. However, though as I wrote above, it draws from, is informed by several books, it is completely its own thing. If you are a Harry Potter fan who thinks that it will fill your need for more Hogwarts books, look elsewhere for that HP feeling, because this isn't that. Read this anyway. Read it for itself.
